Building better Futures The labels that best describe my work are Leadership – and Organisation Development. I belief in Building better Futures through the development of better leaders, better teams, better organisations and better solutions. Better meaning stronger, fairer and sustainable. Originality, clarity and dedication are part of my professional signature. Originality in learning and process designs that open up hearts and minds. Clarity where heritage, cultures, mindsets and politics take over from reason and from what we know is ‘right’. Dedication in my belief that leaders, businesses and public service institutions have the potential to be a force for good. Some background Prior to my current field of practice, some 20 odd years now, I was responsible for Computer Sciences Corporation’s (CSC) executive learning practices in Europe. In my early days I worked in rural Zambia as a science teacher. In the ten years thereafter I held managerial positions in Secondary Education in the Netherlands. Although I work in four continents, Africa admittedly got under my skin. I spend considerable time in Sub-Saharan Africa. With Boards of businesses and public institutions I institutionalise best processes and practices, build and bridge cultures and develop strong and responsible leadership. A page-turning experience in my professional life was the co-founding of ELA~n in 1992. This pan-European network of practitioners in the field of Leadership and Learning comprises business leaders, the academia and professionals in the field. I am deeply indebted to my friends for the learning, projects and lasting friendships. I hold an MSc in Biophysical Chemistry and a degree in Business Informatics.
